At just nine years old, a young girl in Houston, Texas — born in Laramie, Wyoming, raised in Seneca, South Carolina, and rooted in the heart of Houston — transformed the Old English epic Beowulf into a modern stage play for a class project. Her mother, a devoted reader and her most discerning critic, read every word in a single sitting. That moment of quiet validation became the spark that would eventually ignite an empire.
What began as a gift became a calling. What became a calling became a legacy.
From Blog to Brand
In 2012, Mara launched her first blog, a creative leap of faith that attracted 465 readers in a single month. Today that community has grown to over 35,000 followers worldwide, spanning readers who had never considered themselves book lovers until Mara’s words found them. Even entertainment powerhouse Tracey Edmonds took notice, offering public praise that affirmed what Mara’s readers already knew. This voice was something special.
Her process remains as intentional as her prose. Every story, poem, and blog post begins the same way, handwritten, unhurried, and honest, before ever touching a keyboard. In a world of shortcuts, Mara chooses craft.

Award-winning author, publisher, podcast host, screenwriter, AI and technology specialist, Salesforce consultant, and one of the most creatively driven women in her industry. By day she navigates the complex world of enterprise technology, specializing in Salesforce management and AI implementation. By night and every spare moment in between, she builds a publishing legacy that is redefining what it means to be an independent author and publisher.

The Davenports Series is a gripping saga of power, ambition, and family secrets, born in part from the imagination of her then 11-year-old son, who handed Mara several of the ideas that shaped the first iteration of the series. That same son now collaborates with her on every book cover design and social media coordination, a creative partnership that is as much legacy as it is business.
The Journey to Mara Prose is her most vulnerable work. A raw, redemptive account of rebuilding her life, her identity, and her sense of worth after escaping a narcissistic marriage. It is the book she wrote so others would know they are not alone.
Lone Star Rhythms is a fictional love story drawn from real life. Her tribute to the soulmate she swore she would never find, written after she had closed the door on love entirely. It is proof that the best chapters are often the ones you never saw coming.
The Queen of Marriage is a hilarious, heartwarming romantic comedy about love, second chances, and finally betting on yourself.

And her daughter, another writer in the making, carrying the gift forward.
