I wish people would stop acting so outraged by everyday issues. We all know there are times that definitely warrant outrage, yet I find that in these instances, most people are all talk, no action. Let us start with the most recent hot topic of debate, same sex marriage and President Obama’s decision to support it. Now folks, let’s be real, he didn’t pass it into law, he didn’t say he was going to become an ordained minister and start marrying people left and right. He simply said he accepted it. It is nothing more than politics, ambiguous as always!! If it happens to go into law all over the world, it shouldn’t make a difference one way or another to anyone. Why you ask? Well, because the only ones who take issue or who are being blamed for taking issue are Christians, religious zealots or those damn LIBERALS, just to name a few of the comments circling in the media. Let me take it from the Christian angle, because I am a Christian, and I truly could careless about this issue because it has no affect on my walk with God.

There is nothing new under the sun…

Homosexuality has been around since the beginning of time. It was part of a judgement once, and it will be part of another judgement to come. But read this clearly, it will not be a judgement made by any of us. Our Heavenly Father will be the only one to pass that judgement, so leave it rightfully in His hands. “But it’s in the bible you say and it’s just not right!” Once again, it is not our call and should not affect your spirituality if your faith is strong and resilient. Hell, depending on what you believe, we are missing sections in the bible, therefore we could be missing some key facts from our Lord. But let us save that for another blog topic.

There is nothing new under the sun…

Since the beginning of time, there has always been religious warfare. The same sex marriage debate is not any different. All you can do is remember that no matter what your religious beliefs, you are to fight for your beliefs with the armor of God. This entails accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, maintaining our faith and fighting our way through what I have termed “hell on earth” with nothing more than prayer. As for those of you who have no religious beliefs, well, all I can say is sorry for ya. I pray for ya, hope you find the truth and the way. But in all honesty you probably won’t derive much value from or really have any business reading my blog if you are not prepared to give your life to God. And yes, I am very one sided because I am not open minded to atheism and don’t really care if you accept that or not.

There is nothing new under the sun..

This brings me to my next topic of discussion. I had someone leave a comment on my blog that the problem with our country is that we lack morals. I could just hear this person’s booming voice and picture a face of indignation that really proved to be nothing more than a comedic moment of relief for me. My response was…you guessed it!! There is nothing new under the sun!! Think back to the dawn of our existence. We have not had morals since the day sin entered our creation. If you are a Christian, I do not need to start repeating all the bible stories. Even a historian knows that history simply repeats itself. There has always been someone, somewhere for some reason ready to steal, kill and destroy. The only difference is that in modern times, the media makes a fortune off of ensuring they report on every sordid detail of the evilness that constantly evolves in the world. The solution is simple, stop feeding into this nonsense. But if you should choose to engross yourself in it, then suck it up and shut up. Enough said! We cannot holler “morals” one day and turn around and entertain ourselves with all the immoral television shows, movies and music out there. Our world is full of and always will contain a bunch of pretentious nobodies, trying desperately to be somebody by convincing themselves that their way is better than the next person’s. These people are the epitome of ‘needing Jesus!’

There is nothing new under the sun…

The bible tells us that the meek shall inherit the earth. It tells us that it easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than it is for a rich man to enter heaven. I believe this applies to man in general. I remember reading somewhere once that several bible scholars predict that only about one hundred thousand individuals will make it past judgement into heaven. I recall thinking that this surely could not be the case with the billions of people that inhabit our earth. However, since that time, I have reformed my opinion and I truly believe that was a generous number (especially with being a part of Facebook and Twitter). LOL!! I am just joking..well, kinda joking. Hmm, not really, I mean that.

The main point I am trying to make is obvious and I do not really believe I need to spell it out. Clifton Brantley said it best when he encouraged all of us to stop getting upset when the world won’t act like the church. You need to focus on your walk with God and simply be in this world, not of it. We will never have all the answers in this lifetime and we will never all agree on right and wrong. All we need to do is seek refuge in our Heavenly Father and focus on the day when we reunite with Him and experience nothing but peace and joy.

For that will truly be something NEW under the sun!
