How it all started
Mara discovered her gift for creative writing at just nine years old when she transformed the Old English Poem Beowulf into a modern play for a class project. Her skeptical mother, an avid reader, devoured it in one sitting, becoming the first to validate Mara’s talent. Since then, Mara has become a formidable force in the industry.
The Journey
Her realization that writing was more than a hobby came when she launched her first blog in 2012, garnering 465 readers in a month and now boasting over 6500 followers worldwide. Even those who don’t consider themselves regular readers have been captivated, including positive feedback from Tracey Edmonds on social media.
Mara’s best practices include handwriting stories, poems, and blogs before transcribing them to the keyboard. As an established author, publisher, podcast host, and screenwriter juggling a demanding IT career in the oil and gas industry, adhering to this routine is crucial for consistent, fresh material.
Beyond writing, Mara serves as a mentor, and community leader. Motherhood amplifies her passion for writing, motivating her to create a lasting legacy for her children and future generations. Her bond with her daughter, another budding writer, adds inspiration to her legacy.
The Future
Committed to becoming a globally successful writer, Mara envisions her words transforming into movies, television mini-series, non-fiction, and even Broadway stage plays. With persistence and hard work, she believes anything is possible.

“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan ‘press on’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”
